About

Dr. Katherine Kerr's career has focused on ex situ nutrition of wildlife species housed at zoological institutions.  With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Kerr’s research and clinical nutrition has spanned taxon, including invertebrates and vertebrates, aquatic and terrestrial species, and the plants and animals they eat.  Dr. Kerr has worked at St. Louis Zoo, Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Wildlife Safari Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Epcot's The Seas with Nemo and Friends, and San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.

Dr. Kerr developed her joy for problem-solving, creativity, and applied solutions through animal nutrition as a student.  While earning her BS in Zoology and Biology at Colorado State University, she took a zoo nutrition course that focused her passion for animal welfare and behavior towards zoo nutrition. As a dedicated animal nutritionist, Dr. Kerr launched this consulting company with a commitment to elevating the well-being of animals.
